THE Philippine Embassy in Qatar confirmed on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, that no Filipinos were hurt following a missile attack launched by Iran targeting American military installations there on Monday, June 23, 2025.

“Batay sa mga pahayag ng mga kinauukulan sa bansang Qatar, walang nasawi o nasaktan sa pagtatapos ng pag-atake nitong gabi,” the Philippine Embassy in Qatar said.

(Based on statements from authorities in Qatar, no one was killed or injured at the conclusion of the attack tonight.)

“Kanila ring tiniyak na handa nilang tugunan ang mga banta sa seguridad ng bansang Qatar at ng mga naninirahan dito,” it added.

(They also assured that they are prepared to address security threats to the State of Qatar and its residents.)

The embassy, however, advised Filipinos in Qatar to monitor the situation through government channels and trusted news sources and to be vigilant of local advisories and community alerts that may be issued amid the situation.

It also reminded Filipino nationals to verify facts before sharing them to stop the proliferation of rumors and misinformation.

The Philippine Embassy in Qatar also called for calmness and preparedness among Filipinos there.

“Allowing anxiety to take over can hinder clear thinking and effective preparation. Focus on what you can control, and trust in the authorities efforts to ensure public safety,” it said.

“Review your family’s preparedness plan. Being ready will provide peace of mind and ensure your household can respond effectively if the need arises,” it added.

The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh also issued a similar advisory as it assured readiness, along with the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, to provide necessary assistance to all Filipinos in the Kingdom.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Embassy in Iraq advised Filipinos nationals in the said country to shelter in place, monitor ongoing news, and contact the Embassy Hotline (+964 783 700 5457) for emergencies following the recent development in the region.

“Filipino nationals are strongly advised to avoid unnecessary travel to Iraq due to the prevailing security situation in the region, following the developments in Iran, and the closure of the air space in Iraq. Filipino nationals are advised to prepare adequate food, water, medicine and other necessary supplies sufficient for their needs while sheltering in place,” it said.

“If movement cannot be avoided, Filipinos already in Iraq are advised to avoid public places, monitor ongoing news, exercise extreme caution and remain vigilant for their own safety and security. Iraq remains at Alert Level 3 status,” it added.

According to initial reports, Iran launched a series of missile strikes late Monday, June 23, targeting the US' Al-Udeid Air Base located southwest of Doha.

It is seen as retaliation for recent US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites over the weekend. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
