MORE overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families have been served by the OFW Hospital and Diagnostic Center in Pampanga for 2025, nearly three years since it opened.

In a statement, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said the OFW Hospital posted significant increases in hospital service utilization compared to the same period last year, as of March 31.

"The surge in patients indicates growing trust in the hospital’s capacity to provide specialized care for OFWs and continuing capacity build-up," said the DMW.

Data shows a 92 percent increase in inpatients served from 109 in 2024 to 209 in the same quarter this year.

On the other hand, outpatient service showed a 19 percent increase from 10,143 in 2024 to 12,097 in 2025 during the same quarter.

The OFW Hospital recorded a 30 percent increase in procedures done in radiology; 30 percent increase in laboratory; 34 percent in heart station; and 10 percent increase in respiratory procedures.

"The OFW Hospital showed significant milestones in the healthcare delivery for migrant workers and their families," said the DMW.

Despite the achievements, the DMW said it will continue to exert efforts to enhance the capabilities of the OFW Hospital.

These include having a new Cancer Center Building, as well as the expansion of the Heart Station, Respiratory, and Radiology areas.

"These initiatives will not only enhance the hospital's capabilities but also broaden its reach in specialized care, providing vital services closer to home for OFWs and their loved ones," said the DMW. (Anton Banal/SunStar Philippines)
