A COUPLE subject to an Interpol Red Notice for swindling were arrested by Philippine authorities.
In a statement, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said the couple, identified as Cerrone and Marve, was apprehended at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on March 26.
The arrest warrants against them were issued by various courts in Cebu, Davao, Tacloban and Quezon City for swindling and estafa cases.
The accused are residents of San Juan Village, Bangkal, Davao City.
The CIDG said Cerrone, the husband, serves as the president and chairman of Organico Agribusiness Ventures Corporation in the Philippines.
Organico has been accused of operating a Ponzi scheme, where investor's returns are derived from new investor's funds.
Organico reportedly promised a “double-your-money” investment, starting with a P3,600 payment for a piglet, which would increase to P7,000 after three months. The company also utilized crowdfunding to offer shares.
Cerrone is also reportedly running a business in Thailand as the managing director of ERA Phetchaburi, a commercial real estate agency.
In February 2025, the couple was provisionally arrested by the Royal Thai Police and Immigration Officers at their residence in Phetchaburi, Thailand following the revocation of their permission to stay in the Kingdom of Thailand and implementation of Interpol Red Notice issued by National Central Bureau Manila.
Cerrone has been listed as “Regional Most Wanted Person” of Central Visayas and Eastern Visayas, as well as National Most Wanted Person with P950,000 reward.
“I commend the CIDG Southern District Field Unit and Anti-Organized Crime Unit for capturing these fugitives. Job very well done. Today, we have put these two suspects behind bars and helped so many estafa and syndicated estafa victims attain the justice they deserve,” CIDG Director Major General Nicolas Torre III said.
“Rest assured that your CIDG is steadfast in our fight against all forms of criminality and relentlessly in pursuing and catching these most wanted persons and criminals. Remember, your CIDG means business, added PMGen Torre III,” he added. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
