BOXING superstar Manny Pacquiao is set to compete in Netflix’s upcoming reality competition, “Physical: Asia,” marking a major shift from the show’s original format.

Formerly known as “Physical: 100,” the South Korean series will expand its scope in its latest installment, pitting national teams against each other in grueling physical challenges. The show, set to debut in the fourth quarter of 2025, will see Pacquiao competing alongside elite athletes from across the continent.

Pacquiao, the only boxer in history to win titles in eight weight divisions, will represent the Philippines in the high-stakes endurance competition. His participation adds star power to the show, which has gained a global following for its intense challenges and tests of physical resilience.

Unlike previous seasons, where 100 individual contestants battled for supremacy, “Physical: Asia” introduces a team-based format where competitors must work together to avoid elimination. If one team member is eliminated, the entire squad is disqualified, raising the stakes for participants.

The show’s predecessor, “Physical: 100,” topped Netflix’s Global Top 10 (Non-English) rankings for two consecutive years, becoming the platform’s first Korean unscripted series to achieve such a feat. With its expanded format, “Physical: Asia” aims to further engage audiences by bringing together top athletes from various countries.

Pacquiao’s involvement underscores the Philippines’ presence in the competition and highlights the growing global appeal of reality-based endurance contests.

The first two seasons of “Physical: 100” are currently streaming on Netflix. “Physical: Asia” will premiere in late 2025. (LQ3)
