THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) is monitoring three low pressure areas (LPAs) that may affect the country in the coming days.

Two of the LPAs are within the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), while one is still outside the PAR.

In an advisory Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Pagasa said that around 8 a.m. Tuesday, LPA 07h was spotted at 225 kilometers east southeast of Basco Batanes, while LPA 07g was at 1,140 kilometers east of Central Luzon.

The third one -- LPA 07i -- was located at 2,850 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas.

Pagasa said LPA 07g has a “high” potential of developing into a tropical depression, while LPA 07h and 07i both have “medium” potential chances of developing into a tropical cyclone, all within the next 24 hours.

The weather bureau also said that the habagat (southwest monsoon), which brings heavy rainfall in almost the entire Luzon, will continue to affect the region in the coming days.
