THE Police Regional Office in Central Luzon (PRO 3) has completed its investigation on the deaths of a mother and her two young children who were found inside their vehicle in San Rafael, Bulacan.
In a press conference on Monday, August 24, 2026, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Allen Rae Co said the regional police office has already submitted its report to PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
The PRO 3 director has also reached out to the victims’ family and provided an initial report on the findings.
“Ngayon sa kahilingan ng pamilya ng nasawi at to respect their privacy at hanggang doon na lang ang maibibigay ko. The family requested for their privacy especially in this time of grief,” said Co.
The victims -- a mother and her two children, aged four and nine -- were found dead on August 20 inside the rear portion of a multipurpose vehicle parked in Barangay Talacsan, San Rafael. All three had gunshot wounds to the head.
Police said the mother had visited her parents in Angat, Bulacan, a day before the incident, accompanied by her two children.
They reportedly ate and spent time together, with the woman also giving money to her parents.
Around 5 p.m. on August 19, the mother and her children traveled to San Rafael, where they dropped off a friend who had been driving the vehicle.
The woman then reportedly drove back toward Angat with her children.
By around 5:30 p.m., the woman was no longer answering phone calls.
Investigators later reviewed footage from the vehicle’s dashcam.
Based on the initial examination, police said they did not see any other person entering the vehicle before the victims were found.
A 9mm firearm registered to the mother was also recovered at the scene, along with fired cartridge cases and a slug. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
