A POLICE major is now facing charges for allegedly sexually molesting a 23-year-old cadet of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) inside one of the sleeping quarters in Silang, Cavite.
Based on a police report, in the early morning of July 31, following a drinking session, the suspect, who is currently one of the officers assigned to the PNPA, allegedly asked the victim to give him a massage.
Later, the police major reportedly ordered the cadet to remove his clothes as part of a supposed "body massage lesson."
However, the victim said that during the “massage lesson,” the police major touched his private parts.
It was then that the suspect allegedly began sexually assaulting the cadet.
“However, aside from the massage, the suspect maliciously touched the victim's body down to his groin area. The suspect then performed oral sex on the victim. Despite the victim's pleas to stop, the suspect continued until the victim ejaculated, with the suspect allegedly swallowing his semen,” the report stated.
After the incident, the victim sought help from the guard on duty, who assisted him in bringing the suspect to the police station.
In a statement, the PNP said the suspect is now under the full custody of the law.
“A criminal complaint has been filed before the appropriate prosecution office, and an administrative case will be filed by the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) against the said personnel,” it said.
“As the victim continues to receive psychological support, the PNPA appeals for the protection of his privacy. In light of this incident, the Academy is taking decisive steps to strengthen its internal mechanisms, including the tightening of vetting procedures for all personnel assigned to the PNPA,” it added.
The PNP emphasized that the incident is an isolated case and that the institution does not, and will never, condone such acts. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
