A police team on Sunday, March 23 seized P7-million worth of shabu and arrested two suspects tagged as high value individuals or HVIs.
The joint anti-illegal drugs team arrested “Usup”, 36, of Barangay Lourdes Northwest; and “Tobats”, 31, of Barangay Lourdes Sur.
The suspects yielded 1,043.01 grams of suspected shabu valued at P 7,092,468 during the operation conducted by the drug enforcement units (DEUs) of Police Stations 4 and 6, the Angeles City Drug Enforcement Unit and City Intelligence Unit.
The buy-bust money, consisting of marked bills and boodle money, were likewise seized by the policemen.
Authorities also confiscated from the suspects a caliber .45 Norinco pistol, a suppressor/silencer, live ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and a Toyota Wigo.
Police said the operation was conducted after the City Intelligence Unit was able to gather information linking “Usup” to drug distribution and robbery-holdup incidents targeting Korean nationals in barangays Anunas, Balibago, and Pampang.
In April 2023, “Usup”, an alleged member of the Sputnik Gang, was arrested by operatives of Angeles City police during a buy-bust operation at Interior St., Barangay Ninoy Aquino.
Confiscated from his possession during that time were suspected shabu weighing more or less 105 grams with an estimated value of P714,000, a Yamaha Mio motorcycle, and other items.
