Private hospitals corner 58% of PhilHealth claims payment

PRIVATE hospitals are receiving more payments for benefit claims from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) compared to their public counterparts.

Data released by PhilHealth showed that, as of May 31, 2025, it has already paid a total of P118.87 billion in benefit claims nationwide.

Of this amount, P69.60 billion went to private hospitals, while public hospitals received a total of P49.27 billion.

In the past, the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PHAPi) raised concerns about delayed benefit claims payments from PhilHealth.
