MANILA – Most parts of Luzon will still experience rains due to the prevailing southwest monsoon or "habagat," the weather bureau said Thursday.

In its weather forecast issued 4 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said occasional rains will prevail over Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and the Babuyan Islands.

Scattered rains and thunderstorms are forecast in Central Luzon, the rest of the Ilocos region, the rest of the Cordillera region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

Moderate to heavy rains in these areas could result in flash floods or landslides.

The rest of the country will continue to experience isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon.

Meanwhile, the northern and western sections of northern Luzon will experience strong winds and rough seas.

The rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate coastal waters.

PAGASA, meanwhile, said no low-pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation. (PNA)
