THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, announced the arrival of the remains of Leah Mosquera, the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who died after being hit by a missile in Israel.
In a post on X, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said Mosquera has been successfully repatriated.
"Slain Israel OFW Leah Mosquera has returned home," said Cacdac.
Aside from Cacdac, present to welcome Mosquera is Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss.
The DMW chief reiterated the government's commitment to providing aid to her family.
"The DMW and Owwa (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration) shall provide all forms of assistance," said Cacdac.
The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv earlier announced the death of Mosquera after being treated at the hospital for about a month.
Mosquera is one of the four Filipinos wounded and hospitalized in Rehovot, Israel due to Iranian missile attacks last June 15. (Anton Banal/SunStar Philippines)
