THE son and nephew of Senator Jinggoy Estrada were mauled by local residents while on vacation in Boracay Island on Saturday morning, May 24, 2025.

Estrada said his son, Julian, and nephew, Jefferelly Vitug, were on their way to their accommodation from a bar around 2:25 a.m. Saturday, May 24, when the three suspects, two of them were identified, assaulted and attacked them from behind “for no apparent reason.”

He said one of the suspects told his nephew: “Masyado kang maangas (You're too arrogant).”

Estrada said the suspects went to the same bar where his son and nephew came from, but there were no confrontations between them, and this was confirmed through the bar’s closed circuit television (CCTV) footage.

Julian sustained a blow to the head and had a toenail chipped off due to the incident, while his cousin sustained a nose injury.

They are currently admitted in a hospital.

Estrada immediately flew to Boracay and filed charges against the suspects. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
