POLICE arrested two suspects in the killing of Aparri, Cagayan Vice Mayor Rommel Alameda.
In a report reaching Camp Crame, the police said the suspects were apprehended on Tuesday morning, March 25, 2025, in Barangay Luna, Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija, during the service of an arrest warrant for murder charges issued by the Bayombong Vizcaya Regional Trial Court Branch 28.
One of the arrested suspects is the alleged leader of a potential armed group in the region.
Alameda and five others were killed when they were ambushed by the suspects who pretended to be police officers manning a checkpoint in February 2023. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
