EXPELLED lawmaker Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. is set to be discharged from the hospital.
In a statement, Teves’ legal counsel Ferdinand Topacio said the former Negros Oriental representative was given clearance to be discharged from the Philippine General Hospital on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Teves underwent appendectomy on June 18.
Topacio said Teves will be returned to his detention cell in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
He said the former congressman will remain under close watch as he was still experiencing abdominal pains.
Teves is facing 11 counts of murder, 13 counts of frustrated murder, four counts of attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms and illegal possession of explosives and terrorist financing, prevention, and suppression act.
He was tagged as the mastermind in the killing of Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo, along with several other innocent civilians in broad daylight on March 4, 2023, and three other individuals in the province in 2019, including Miguel Dungog, a former board member of Negros Oriental.
Teves was arrested in Dili City in Timor Leste on May 27 and was immediately deported back to the Philippines. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
