THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) reminded the public on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, to bring a valid identification document when they apply to become registered voters.
Considered as valid identification documents are national ID, postal ID card, person with disability (PWD) card, student's ID or library card, senior citizen's ID, and driver's license/student permit.
Also acceptable as identification documents are NBI clearance, Philippine passport, SSS/GSIS or UMID card, Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) ID card, Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) license, and Certificate of Confirmation from the National Commission on Indigenuous Peoples (NCIP).
"Bring one of these government-issued IDs," said the Comelec in a social media post.
The poll body also said that they will no longer accept the barangay identification/certification, Community Tax Certificates (Cedula), police clearance, and company IDs of voter registrants.
"We will no longer accept them as valid identification documents for voter registration," said the Comelec.
On August 1, the Comelec is set to resume all voter registration activities nationwide, and will run until August 10.
Voter registration is open for the entire 10-day period from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in all Offices of the Election Officer. (Anton Banal/SunStar Philippines)
