THE Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa) Board will decide today the fate of Mactan Rock and its consortium, bidder that pre qualified in the bulk water supply project.
Baciwa chair Maria Aida Torre and some members and the management team led by Mario Macatangay and Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) chair Genelyn Gemora conducted a committee meeting yesterday to thresh out issues and concerns so that when they hold their board meeting today, it will be easier and would no longer take time to make decisions.
But Torre refused to preempt the decision of the board, saying it would all depend today whether majority of the Board of Directors would go or not with the bid of Mactan Rock.
The Baciwa BAC and Technical Working Group have already ruled that the bid of Mactan Rock and its consortium is responsive and considered as the single lowest calculated bid.
They conducted the post-qualification evaluation and were able to visit the areas where the bidder had businesses.
Gemora said that in case the board will favorably decide on the bid of Mactan Rock, they will put enough safety nets and terms of reference to safeguard the interest of the Baciwa and its consumers. (CNC)
