PayMaya strengthens presence in NegOcc

PAYMAYA Philippines further introduced to its customers in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental its mobile transaction service aimed at providing convenience and redefining shopping experience for Negrenses.

Through its PayMaya QR, or quick response, shoppers at The SM Store Bacolod can simply open their PayMaya application in their mobile phones to paying for the goods they purchased.

By tapping the scan button and using the special QR codes displayed at The SM Store’s Mobile Pay lanes, transactions are already completed. This cashless system is already available in all branches of The SM Store nationwide.

Paolo Azzola, chief operating officer and managing director of PayMaya Philippines, in a media briefing at SM City Bacolod yesterday, said the way people in the province are accepting their mobile application is ahead of those in other areas.

Azzola said that SM City Bacolod has done “more” compared to other mall branches in the country, especially in terms of catering to most number of clients using PayMaya QR.

“Our partnerships with SM actually started with Smart Padala in 2004. It is something that we have to sustain,” he added.

To encourage more Bacolodnons and Negrenses to experience cashless convenience, the company said it is offering an introductory promo where shoppers can get 10 percent rebate on their purchases when using PayMaya QR until April 15, 2018.

For every P1,000 worth of purchase, shoppers also get the chance to win one of the 10 iPhone X units to be raffled off.

Willie Gamboa, manager of The SM Store Bacolod, said Negrenses can easily adapt to changes and technology as manifested by the huge amount of mobile transactions catered by their branch.

SM City Bacolod, a load-up touch point for PayMaya account holders, tops the number of PayMaya QR transactions in all of their branches nationwide, Gamboa said, adding that “the acceptance of PayMaya QR in The SM Store will really create a smoother experience for Filipino costumers.”

Taking part in the BacoLaodiat Festival celebration, the company is also giving chances to instantly win P50 to P300 PayMaya credits to those who downloaded the application at SM City Bacolod Activity Center during the festival days.

Negrenses were also treated to an entertainment yesterday as PayMaya brought Asia’s Pop Sweetheart Julie Ann San Jose for an afternoon of music, fun and games at the said mall.
