A SEPTUAGENARIAN died in Negros Oriental, while a girl was injured in Siquijor on Tuesday, February 13, as Tropical Depression "Basyang" battered the southern portion of Central Visayas.
At 8 a.m. in Barangay Trinidad, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, Gaudiosa Lania, 71, drowned after she was caught by a flash flood.
Lania's body was recovered in the same village past 3 p.m.
At 3 a.m., Jhena Mae Balos, 12, was injured after a coconut tree fell on her house in Baranagy Cang-inte, Siquijor town, Siquijor.
Balos, who was sleeping when the tree fell, suffered wounds in the stomach and left arm.
The girl's father brought her to the provincial hospital for treatment. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
