10 new Cebu City Hall workers found positive for illegal drugs

TEN newly-hired employees of Cebu City Government were found positive for illegal drug use in a surprise drug test conducted by Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse and Prevention (Cosap).

Dr. Alice Utlang, chief of Cosap, said 127 newly-hired workers were made to undergo a drug test as part of their employment requirements.

Utlang said that those found positive will no longer be allowed to work at City Hall.

The drug test was part of their efforts to support the campaign of President Rodrigo Duterte against illegal drugs.

She said they will conduct again the surprise and random drug tests on all employees of City Hall anytime to make sure that it’s a drug-free workplace. (Razel Cuizon/SunStar Cebu)
