100 teams join Oro football festival

MORE than 100 teams led by CdO power houses Rosevale School and Higala FC are joining the PIA-SunStar Open Seven Football Festival which kicks off on Saturday, October 22, at the Westridge Sports Park in Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.

Rosevale, the recent champion in the City Division Meet’s Secondary and Elementary Boys tournaments, will field in teams in the Boys 17, Boys 14, Boys 12, Mix 10, Mix 8, Men's Open, and Girls 17 categories.

Higala FC has also numerous entries except in the Women's Open and the Men's Open divisions.

The Men's Open category which will be held tomorrow will have the most number of entries with 20 teams participating.

Fifteen teams are also joining in the Boys 17, 10 in the Boys 14, 10 in the Boys 12, 12 teams in Mix 10, and eight teams in the Mix 8.

Competitions in these categories are now underway while rivalries in the Girls 17, Girls 14, Girls 12 and Women's Open are all scheduled tomorrow.

Thirteen teams are joining the Girls 17, four in the Girls 14, two in the Girls 12 and 10 in the Women's Open.

The tournament is organized by Pinay In Action (PIA) SunStar Cagayan de Oro Inc., and sponsored by A. Brown Company Inc.
