POLICE arrested three alleged drug personalities, including a 15-year-old girl, during a checkpoint in Barangay Sabang, Sibonga, Cebu last Monday night.

The suspects are Shry Bacus Abellana, 25; her cousin Micho Arsula Abellana, 19; and Sarah (real name withheld for being a minor).

They were caught by a joint team of the Regional Public Safety Batallion (RPSB)-Central Visayas and Sibonga Police Station.

Last Saturday night, a 16-year-old grade 10 pupil was caught, together with two older men, allegedly in a pot session inside a cemetery in Polo, Alcantara town.

Before the arrest happened at 8:20 p.m., the police put up a checkpoint along the National Highway in Sabang.

They tried to flag down the motorcycle driven by Shry because their vehicle has no license plate.

Shry, who was found to have no license to drive the motorcycle, allegedly tried to evade the police officers, but the RPSB personnel led by their leader, Insp. Cesar Carlos Alburo, cornered them.

When they were frisked, Shry yielded 10 sachets of shabu, a black belt bag, cell phone, a tooter and P2,300 cash in different denominations, believed to be proceeds of the suspects’ drug trade.

Ten sachets of shabu and an empty pack were recovered from Micho.

Police seized four sachets and a cell phone from the minor, who was brought to a social worker for evaluation.

Shry’s motorcycle was also confiscated from her.

Complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.

Drug den

In Lapu-Lapu City, police were supposed to arrest only two drug suspects during an operation, but caught six alleged drug users when one of the suspects hid in a drug den in Barangay Gun-ob.

Members of Lapu-Lapu Police Station 3 arrested Jerome Pantilgantang, 28, and his cohort, 35-year-old Milke Muñoz in Purok Balanghoy, Barangay Gun-ob past 2 p.m. last Monday.

Chief Insp. Jaime Tolentino, chief of Police Station 3, said they received several reports about the illegal activity in the area where drug personalities allegedly openly sold shabu on the street of Purok Balanghoy.

The arrest was made after Pantilgantang, who was among the station’s top street level targets, received the P200 cash from a police decoy and handed over a sachet of shabu.

Pantilgantang, who also reportedly used a name as Jerome Tatoy, tried to elude arrest and hid inside a house owned by a certain Ricky.

Inside the house, the police operatives arrested Pantilgantang and six other persons who were allegedly found holding shabu and sniffing paraphernalia.

Nag prepare sila mosuyop (The six men were preparing to have a shabu session),” Tolentino said.

The six other suspects were Eufrosino Jaca, 52; Eloweh Lopez, 26; Rene Noval, 27; Richard Urot, 30; Jovan Masion, 20; and Dalton Tampus, 27.

Lopez is from Cordova, while Masion hails from Consolacion. The rest of the four drug users are from Lapu-Lapu.

A disposable lighter, a tin foil and a sachet of shabu were seized from each of the six drug users.

Police got another sachet of the same substance from Pantilgantang, while another 19 sachets from Muñoz.

Tolentino said all the drugs confiscated were estimated to be worth P13,000.

All the suspects were detained at the Police Station 3 holding cell pending charges to be filed against them.
