11 wanted persons nabbed in Davao

ELEVEN wanted personalities were apprehended while close to 2,000 individuals were invited to undergo bio-profiling during the Joint Anti-Criminality and Terrorism Operation Plan, a pre-emptive security operations on possible criminal and terrorist lairs in the city conducted by local authorities on Friday.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Ma. Teresita Gaspan said that the surprise operation targeting suspicious personalities was conducted around 6 a.m. on Friday along with other law enforcement agencies in the city.

The wanted personalities who were arrested were identified as Juhanny Almodovar Proposi for falsification of government documents; Roel Ricardo Baliad, Eddie Laurente Basti, Bernard Guinez Bustillo for violations of PD 1602; Felomina Dalisay for Violation of PD 1602; James Baguio Madelo for murder; Renato C. Gadiano for violation of Social Security System (SSS Law); Remedio Butas for violation of RA 9287; Janice San Juan for theft; Araceli M. Gunayan for violation of PD 115; and Marjan Intos Jimlani for theft.

The series of operations also resulted in the background check of 1,995 individual residents among them 1,678 individuals with ID and 317 transient residents without ID. There were also eight internally displaced persons (IDPs).

A total of 15 single motorcycles for various traffic violations were also impounded and now under the custody of the police.

The operation was simultaneously conducted in the areas of Police Station (PS1) including Barangay Duterte, Sta. Ana; Purok 6, Brgy 37-D, San Pedro in PS2; 44, Bangkal and Talomo for PS3, Parcia, KM 10 and Sasa in PS4, Purok Lote-lote, BrgyTigatoo and Buhangin for PS5, Purok 13, 14, Tibungko and Bunawan for PS6; Sto.Nino, Pogilawis and Toril for PS8; Mintal Public Market and Mintal for PS9; and Teachers Village, Calinan for PS10.

This is in line with reports received by their office from barangay officials who sought for their security assistance to counter check the identities of new personalities in their areas.

It was jointly conducted with Task Force Davao, Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Regional Maritime Unit (RMU), National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) and Aviation Security Unit (AVSEU), among others.
