TWO Chinese businessmen were arrested for non-payment of Social Security System (SSS) contributions of their employees, the local police said Wednesday, November 30.
The Police Station 5 identified the arrested Chinese businessmen as Chee Pang Ong and Lin Xiu Man, both residents of the village of Divisoria, east of Zamboanga City.
The police said they were arrested around 1 p.m., Tuesday inside their business establishment in the village of Divisoria.
The police said they were charged for violation of Section 22(a) in relation to Sections 18, 19 and 28(e) of Republic Act 1161 otherwise known as the Social Security Law as amended by RA 8282.
The police arrested the two Chinese businessmen following the issuance of an arrest warrant, but they obtained temporary liberty after paying P24,000 bail each. (Bong Garcia/Sunnex)
