A MANHUNT has been launched to recapture the two detainees who escaped from detention in Zamboanga City, the police said on Sunday, October 1.
The object of the manhunt are Edric Sapayla and Ernard Raveche, who are facing drug and homicide charges, respectively.
The Zamboanga City Police Office reported that Sapayla and Raveche escaped around 1 a.m., Sunday, at the detention cell of the Police Station 9 headquarters.
The headquarters of the Police Station 9 is located in Ayala village.
The police said the two escaped by destroying the steel bar grills that serve as ventilation of the detention cell.
The police said the escape was uncovered after another detainee told Police Office 2 Bernardo Mariano, the duty sentinel, who went inside the Police Station 9 headquarters.
Mariano immediately informed the incident to officer of the day, thus, a manhunt was launched.
The police said that coordination has been made with the other law enforcement agencies to assist them in the manhunt operation for the immediate recapture of the escapee-detainees.
The police said they are just waiting for the issuance of commitment order to turn over the two escapees to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology. (SunStar Philippines)
