2 Indonesians acquire licenses as Filipinos

THE Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) has placed two foreigners under close watch for possible links to the terrorists or any threat groups after they were found to have possession of fake driver's license.

ZCPO spokesperson Edwin Duco said that two Indonesians were found to have illegally acquired driver’s license from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) notwithstanding they are foreigners.

The move is part of the safety and security measures of the city, Duco said.

Duco added the Indonesians, whose identities were not known as of Tuesday evening, were charged with falsification of public documents.

Early on, he said both Indonesians were considered as “persons of interest” by the intelligence investigators as they were acting suspiciously while checking in at a local hotel.

But upon investigation the two foreigners were found negative for linkage with any threat groups, except that they were in possession of LTO-issued driver’s license, despite being foreign nationals. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
