TWO suspected drug pushers were arrested in two separate buy-bust operations conducted by police authorities in Davao City Thursday.
The most recent operation was launched by Sta. Ana police led by station commander Superintendent Caezar Cabuhat at corner Juan Luna and Jacinto St. around 11:30 p.m. which resulted to the arrest of one Ramil Sema Ramos, a 34-year-old pedicab driver and a resident of Barangay 22-C Poblacion.
Police made the arrest after the suspect handed out a sachet of suspected shabu to a police officer who acted as poseur buyer.
Recovered from the suspect were one big pack of shabu, worth P25,000, a weighing scale, an improvised lighter and the P500 marked money.
The suspect is a noted drug pusher in the area as he sells drug while taking in passengers on his pedicab.
At around 5 p.m. of the same day, Sta. Ana police also arrested one Sheryl Reyes Salucan, 23, of Purok 2, Barangay 76-A Bucana.
Salucan was arrested after Sta. Ana police caught her bringing two plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” while the latter were conducting a roving operation. The suspect was tagged as one of the "drug runners" in the area.
The suspects are now detained at the Sta. Ana police station where they are facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
