DEPARTMENT of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre has designated a Cebu-based and a Manila-based prosecutor to handle the cases filed against suspects in the killing of Bien Unido, Bohol Mayor Gisela Bendong-Boniel.

Cebu Assistant Regional Prosecutor Llena Ipong-Avila and Manila-based Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Juan Pedro Navera were appointed to handle the parricide case against Bohol Board Member Niño Rey Boniel, husband of Gisela.

Niño Rey was accused of kidnapping and killing his wife in June this year.
