ABOUT 22 kilos of “hot meat” were seized by operatives of Task Force Botagoy at the satellite market of Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City Tuesday afternoon.
Rex Juplo, head of Task Force Botagoy, said the “hot meat” was confiscated from the stall of Areseno Lutrago, 61, of Eroreco Subdivision, Barangay Mandalagan.
He added that the confiscated meat did not undergo inspection a the city’s AVM Bernardo slaughterhouse.
On Monday, 1.32 kilos of “hot meat” was also seized from the stall of Stephen Ignacio, 36, at Barangay Bata Public Market.
Juplo said the two vendors failed to present inspection certificates.
The confiscated meat were burned and buried at the city’s slaughterhouse grounds.
From November to December 14, Task Force Botagoy confiscated a total of 156 kilos of “hot meat.”
Juplo said they are intensifying their operations to ensure the health of the consumers especially this Christmas season. (MAP)
