3 female inmates at Bulacan provincial jail collared

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Three female inmates at the Bulacan Provincial Jail were arrested during a sting operation inside the penitentiary Tuesday night.

Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Divina, Bulacan police provincial director, identified those arrested as Teresa Martin, Edna Sampang and Nenita Polintan, all with pending drug pushing cases at the Bulacan regional Trial Court.

Divina said Malolos City Police conducted a buy bust operation after receiving information that there is rampant selling of shabu inside the provincial jail.

He said they “planted” a female police officer to penetrate the lair of the alleged drug-pushing inmates.

The three pushers were arrested after selling P1,000 worth of shabu to the female police undercover operative.

He said that they are closely coordinating with Provincial Jail Warden Ret. Col. Pepito Plamenco and still digging deep on how the illegal drugs were able to get inside the jail. The three female inmates will undergo drug testing at the Bulacan Police Crime Laboratory.

Divina a provincial anti-drug squad will be headed by a female police officer, known for her many crime busting feats, is now being formed to add more teeth to the all out war against illegal drugs in Bulacan.

He said that this is in compliance to the marching order of Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel Fernando to rid the province of criminal elements.
