THREE men were killed in separate shooting incidents in Negros Island Region in the past two days.
In Calatrava town, a murder suspect died while his father was injured after they were shot by unidentified men inside their house at Barangay Ani-e on Thursday, October 6.
Police identified the fatality as Jocel Cabriana, 20.
Initial investigation showed that the young man and his father Ernesto Cabriana, 51, were cooking lunch when a gunfire was heard at about 2 p.m.
The younger Cabriana died on the spot while his father sustained minor injury.
Police recovered from the crime scene 10 fired bullets of .45 caliber pistol and 15 bullets of M16 rifle.
Superintendent Gil Flores, chief of Calatrava Municipal Police Station, said Jocel has pending cases for murder and frustrated murder.
Investigators are eyeing revenge as the motive.
In Negros Oriental, a man was shot to death by an unidentified assailant in Dumaguete City on Thursday, October 6.
Police records showed that Dennis Veruasa, of Barangay Bajumpandan and an unidentified man were talking in a dimly lit portion of the road when a heated argument ensued between them.
After a few minutes, the other man shot Veruasa and escaped on a motorcycle.
Veruasa sustained four gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Police recovered from the crime scene eight bullets of .45 caliber, a slug, a live ammunition of .9mm, knife, and a cellular phone.
In Bacolod City, a man was shot to death by his neighbor at Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Banago Friday evening, October 7.
Police identified the fatality as Arnold Villarias, 42.
Initial investigation showed that Villarias was drunk and threw a stone at the house of suspect Eden Sumbang.
A heated argument followed, prompting Sumbang to shoot the victim.
Villarias sustained four gunshot wounds.
Sumbang escaped, but was later arrested at the house of his aunt.
Police recovered slugs of an unknown firearm.
Sumbang has been placed at the custodial facility of Police Station 3.
