3 Save More branches in Bacolod get silver Bagwis Award from DTI

THREE establishments in Bacolod City were recipients of this year's Bagwis Award, a recognition given by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to enterprises that consistently abide with the guidelines set by the agency.

DTI-Negros Occidental recently awarded the Seal of Excellence plaque to three branches of Save More in Libertad, East and Fortune Town, which were recognized as silver awardees.

Reginald Hudierez, senior trade and industry development specialist of DTI-Negros Occidental, yesterday said the establishments were chosen through site visitation, assessment, evaluation, and regional deliberation.

The recognition is open to all retailers like supermarkets, service centers, and repair shops.

Hudierez said applicant-enterprises should abide with fair trade laws, including price tagging and labeling, comply with the guidelines of other governing agencies like Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Department of Labor and Employment (Dole), and conform with general set-up that requires cleanliness of the business place, among others.

“Bagwis Award is also given to establishments that have been implementing corporate social responsibilities, and compliant to some elements of the ISO 9001," he added.

Since 2007, DTI-Negros Occidental has named six Bagwis recipient-establishments, including Hyundai Motors-Singcang Branch as bronze awardee, and Nissan Motors-Singcang Branch and Honda-Talisay Branch both silver awardees.

Through the seal of excellence plaque, which is affixed in front of the establishments, enterprises will further boost their image and reputation which can equip them in gaining more trust and confidence from the consumers, the DTI said.

For the consumers, it will give them the guarantee of excellent services from the recipient-establishments, it added.
