4 firms eye to develop public markets in Davao City

THE Public Private and Partnership (PPP) Board received four applicants for the upgrade of public markets in Davao City.

Davao City Counclor Edgar Ibuyan Jr., in a media interview last Tuesday, said the board is studying which proposal to approve.

"Not only Agdao public market, they also consider Toril and Bankeronhan," he said, adding that before they only have one applicant.

"As of today we have four applicants who would have to present their proposal, and would need to comply with the necessary document to become a viable candidate," he said.

Ibuyan said the technical working group of the board will be the one to supply the requirements and shall study each proposal.

He added that the technical working group of the PPP Board will study and they will select a proposal wherein the city government will benefit the most.

The councilor said one firm wants to develop the Agdao Public Market while another applicant wants to develop Agdao and Bankerohan Public Market.

He said the technical working group will give suggestion and recommendation with the board and the applicants who are required to submit necessary documents.

Ibuyan said the PPP Board is handling several proposals from different investors including foreign investors. (KVC)
