4 men in hotel drug raid released

Four of the seven suspects arrested in a hotel drug raid in Bacolod City on August 2 were released from detention after posting bail on Friday, August 4.

Police Station 1 head Leo Estopa said Marvin Magno Jr., 35; Mariano Villarosa Jr., 37; Mikael Nicholas Zayco, 34; and Miko Manuel Luis Lizares Jr., 34, all residents of Bacolod, were released from police custody yesterday afternoon after posting a bail of P200,000 each.

The four suspects together with Karl Ocampo, 31, were charged for possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia after they were caught holding "pot session" inside a hotel room during a drug bust, but Ocampo failed to post a bail.

The Wednesday night drug bust led to the apprehension of Dindo Barcillo, 32, of Talisay City, a level two, high value target of Police Regional Office-18; and Robert Jan Herman, 34, with a recovery of about 70 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) with an estimated value of P700,000.

Barcillo and Herman are facing charges for sale and possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia while Barcillo has an additional charge for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Barcillo, Herman, and Ocampo are still detained at Police Station 1.
