4 nabbed in simultaneous stakeout operations

FOUR persons, one of them a minor, were arrested in simultaneous stakeout operations by operatives of the Special Operations Group in barangays 2 and 35, Bacolod City, Saturday morning. 

Arrested were Cindy Torres, 35, of Purok Seaside, Barangay Tangub; Willy Satoc, 26, of Purok Sigay, Barangay 2; Jing Mijares, 26, of Purok Kawiwili, Barangay Banago; and the 16-year-old whose name is being withheld, Special Operations Group head Armando Tubongbanua said.

Tubongbanua said Torres, Satoc, and Mijares were nabbed in simultaneous operation at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 around 12:20 a.m. Saturday.

The minor was arrested at Purok Mahiliugyon, Barangay 35 around 3:30 a.m.

Police recovered from Torres an improvised tooter, two disposable lighters, a cellular phone and P60 in cash. Another two elongated plastic sachets of suspected shabu, bamboo stick used as clip, one disposable lighter, and P160 in cash were recovered from Satoc.

One tooter, two disposable lighters and P42 in cash were also recovered from Mijares, and two heat-sealed of suspected shabu were seized from the minor, Tubongbanua said. 

He said Torres, Satoc, and Mijares are now detained in Bacolod City Police Office headquarters while the minor was endorsed in Social Development Center. 

Tubongbanua said they are now intensifying their campaign not only in illegal gambling but also on illegal drugs in different areas of Bacolod, especially this MassKara Festival celebration.
