4 new inventions in 3-day exhibit

THE Davao Inventors Association (DIA) has prepared four new invention and innovation technologies which will be presented in a three-day exhibit at the Davao City Hall on November 15 to 17.

Inventors' association president Virgilio Sangutan, in a recent press conference, said their members have created a liquid-smoke canister, electric tricycle, organic vermicast from the solid waste, and technology ovens.

Sangutan said that the association plans to reduce air pollution here and these inventions and innovations could be a response and a solution to that problem.

According to Sangutan, the liquid-smoke canister absorbs the smoke coming from burnt firewood, vehicles, factories and bakeries, among others, and transforms it into a mist that will be mixed into the water so that it can be utilized for watering plants.

Sangutan added that they also have electric tricycles which are safe for the passengers. He said that they are also planning to create an electric jeepney, taxi cab, bus, and truck until gasoline and crude-oil are no longer needed.

The organic vermicast is a solution to do away with the garbage as its purpose is to convert garbage to green charcoal that can also become a hydrogen fuel which can be used to generate power/electricity, Sangutan said.

"We also have technology ovens for the bakeries and for those who are selling lechon. This is to reduce the smoke coming out from its chimneys, adding to the pollution," he added.

Sangutan also said that the association plans to pay a courtesy visit to President Rodrigo Duterte after the exhibit here to present their recommendations, suggestions and actual products that can become a solution to air pollution. (ICT)
