FOUR persons were arrested for shoplifting inside two department stores in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, October 29.
Police identified the suspects as Ely Gomez, 53, and Belen Gomez, 54, and Mary Joy Reyes, 27, all of Bacolod City; and Ryan Osdin, 32, of Silay City.
Superintendent Rhea Santos, city police chief, said the suspects were caught in the act stealing Christmas lights and assorted clothes inside the two business establishments.
The name of the stores were withheld by the police.
The suspects escaped on board a taxi, but they were cornered in Himamaylan City after the department stores’ security guard called for police assistance.
Theft charges are being readied against the suspects, who are detained at Kabankalan police station’s custodial facility. (GYM)
