MOST people, if not all, think it's easy to lose weight by just popping some diet pills, following a strict diet and/or buying some gym equipment. Sorry to burst your bubbles but burning fat is not that simple. As the cliche goes "There is no shortcut to weight loss."

"If anyone is on a diet, controlled eating is the key. It may sound simple, but in reality it's hard to do especially for those who aren’t ready to say goodbye to food with huge calories," gym instructor and body builder Jed Bayron Comapon said as a friendly advice.

Yes, weight loss means to burn more calories and eat less but eat the right kind of food. Here are the five things one must possess if he wants to lose weight successfully and healthily.

1. Motivation

How motivated are you? A motivated person would set his/her goals and pay attention to these in order to become successful in losing weight. One also needs to condition his mind and body on the process.

2. Attitude

Having a good attitude is a key. You have to remember that nothing comes easy, especially in the first attempt to losing weight. Losing weight takes time. You must be patient and keep moving towards your weight loss goal.

3. Workout

Well, if you do not workout consistently — exercise and eating the right kind of food — losing weight could be so hard. Working out does not mean killing yourself. It is about setting a reasonable workout schedules and having the right meal.

4. Discipline

Food, especially sweets and those with high cholesterol and calories are very tempting. No one said you could not eat them anymore. Depriving oneself is not good either. It is a matter of discipline. You can grab a little but don't over indulge on these kinds of food.

5. Lifestyle

One must have the willingness to change their lifestyle should they want a healthy life. This does not mean you’ll change everything in just one snap. It is just being open to new ways of doing things for a healthy and better life.
