6.5-magnitude quake affects power lines in Cebu

THE Visayan Electric Company (Veco) said several places in Cebu province experience power interruptions due to the strong earthquake that was felt Thursday afternoon, July 6.

According to the Veco advisory the 6.5-magnitude quake affected power generators in Leyte and likewise affected power supply transmitted to the Visayas.

Rose Delator, Veco's customer service representative, said the company is still assessing the other areas experiencing brownouts due to the tremor.

Here are the initial list of affected areas:

Barangay Casili, Mandaue City

Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City

Poblacion Minglanilla

Barangay Tinago, Cebu City

Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City

Sitio Kalahuan, Minglanilla

Barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City
