CAMP OLIVAS -- Seven persons, including an alleged shabu pusher, were arrested by operatives of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group (RAIDSOTG) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Calapacuan, Subic, Zambales, Friday.

Chief Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon director, identified the arrested men as Diomedes Maraya and his brother Ariel; Roberto Lingad; Joey Arcon; Danny Gimena; Arnel Sumayan; and a certain Jojo who is known as a drug pusher and maintaining a drug den.

Petrasanta said suspects were caught having a pot session at Purok 3 Tahimik, Barangay Calapacuan, Subic town.

According to Petrasanta, his office received information disclosing Jojo's illegal activities. The police officials ordered the RAIDSOTF, in coordination with PDEA, to conduct a buy-bust operation at the area.

Petrasanta said that after the Maraya brothers sold the suspected shabu to a police poseur, the team effected the raid in Jojo's residence.

Confiscated from the Maraya brothers were a sachet containing shabu, a .38 caliber revolver and drug paraphernalia.

Police also seized methamphetamine and a .45 caliber gun from Jojo.

The suspects are temporarily detained at the Subic Police Station facing illegal possession of illegal drugs, firearms and ammunition charges. (Ric Sapnu)
