AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD boy drowned in the river of Barangay Canorong, Ginatilan, Cebu, past 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 19.
Police identified the fatality as Lee Kevin Baroy Bautista, a grade two pupil.
Investigation showed the boy went home from school past 12 p.m. for his lunch.
Canorong Barangay Councilor Rey Bilocura later saw the boy playing in the river. He told the boy to keep out of the river as it was raining and the river might swell into flood.
The boy did not listen after Bilocura left.
Around 3 p.m., the boy's grandfather Restituto Baroy found his body floating lifeless about 150 meters from the place where he was playing. (KAL)
