CEBU City Marriott Hotel is offering a free Classic Concert this Christmas season at its Sampaguita Ballroom. It will feature the Classic Youth Orchestra (CYO) under the baton of Reynaldo Abellana, with special guest Dr. Ingrid Sala Santamaria. The concert will be held Sunday and will start at 8 p.m.
CYO will start the concert with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C minor, 1st movement, followed by Morricone’s Gabriel’s Oboe, with soloist James Vincent Natera. Bach’s Concerto for 2 Violins in D Minor will have soloists Bruce Albert Lim and AJ Gabrielle Valendez. Massenet’s Meditation will have Paul Gilbert Ramos as violin soloist. The first part of the concert will conclude with Hayes’ Light of a Million Mornings with soprano Johannie Marie Beltran as soloist.
The second part of the concert will have the CYO-Junior playing Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G. minor and The First Noel.
The last part will begin with Dr. Ingrid Sala Santamaria in Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in G Minor with the CYO. This will be followed with the CYO playing Anderson’s Waltzing Cat, Doreamon, as arranged by Ikeda, Andeson’s A Christmas Festival, and, for a rousing finale, Kasadya (V. Rubi/M. Vestil).
