Additional houses for poor Tawi-Tawi residents set

THE Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) is set to construct 50 more shelters for poor families in the island town of Simunul in Tawi-Tawi province.

ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman said that the evaluation is ongoing to identify the beneficiaries of the core shelters.

The identification of the beneficiaries is being done by the Municipal Government and validated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Hataman said the housing project is under the Bangsamoro Regional Inclusive Development for Growth and Empowerment (Bridge) program.

He said Bridge program aims to alleviate poverty incidence among residents by targeting 600 poor families across the region.

Last Monday, July 3, Hataman turned over 40 shelters to identified beneficiaries in the village of Tubig Indangan in Simunul.
