CLARK FREEPORT -- An official of the Philippines AirAsia said the carrier is committed to connect their domestic routes to Clark International Airport (CRK).
Gerard Penaflor, Philippines AirAsia Commercial Department Head, disclosed this following the recent relaunching of the carrier's Davao-Clark route.
Penaflor at the same time urged residents of Central and Northern Luzon to support the airline's new local routes. He said AirAsia plans to add more flights to different parts of the country.
"Huwag kayo magsasawa, support AirAsia as we do more routes out of Clark. Well, just to share with you the regional connectivity of AirAsia, once we start doing international routes, mas malawak po ang mapupuntahan ninyo. Ang pinakahub po ng AirAsia is in Kuala Lumpur. In fact, we just recently launched yung Kuala Lumpur-Hawaii namin via Japan. So you have access to USA now," Penaflor said.
"We are launching more interesting destinations out of the region so there's more to look forward to. Domestic-wide, we are doing the same thing. We try to connect more of the domestic routes to Clark and from Clark. Maraming plano ang AirAsia dito sa atin. So please do stand by for that," he added.
Penaflor said the relaunching of their flights to Davao and Kalibo (Boracay) signals the carrier's return to Clark.
"We are finally back. This is where we started. I was not part of it but I heard a lot of good stories from our partners CIAC and from media. In fact, I think we have an office here before na na-renovate na. So that gives the impression that we are back," Penaflor said. "Inasmuch as we are here now, I think it's not about being back but actually being back home where it all started." (Reynaldo G. Navales)
