ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao -- This corn producing municipality dominated the recently concluded Provincial Athletic Selection Meet held in Lagawe from November 29 – December 3.
Alfonso Lista was declared as the overall champion in elementary and secondary level with 39 and 47 gold respectively. The municipality also hauled 26 silver and 24 bronze in the elementary level including 22 silver and 32 bronze for secondary level.
Kiangan placed second in the elementary level with Lagawe salvaging third.
In the secondary level, the Ifugao Private Schools Athletic Association (IPSAA) place second while Lamut placed third.
Sports event lined up during the weeklong event include arnis, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, billiards, boxing, chess, football, gymnastics, ‘kadang-kadang’, sepak takraw, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball and wrestling.
Selected athletes will represent the province in the upcoming Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association to be held in Baguio City. (Marcelo Lihgawon/PIA-CAR)
