Amer in PBA draft camp

DAVAO City's very own Baser Amer of the San Beda College Red Lions joined the Philippine Basketball Association 2015 Gatorade Draft Combine that opened at the Hoops Center along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City yesterday.

The 22-year-old former Holy Child College of Davao Reds player signed up for this Sunday's PBA Rookie Draft.

"Yes, I am joining the draft. I don't have any team in particular. I just want to play in the PBA," Amer said in a recent Facebook chat with Sun.Star Davao.

The two-day camp aims to give coaches of the 12 PBA teams to scout the rookies they intend to select in the draft.

Amer along with other aspirants underwent anthropometry that measures height, weight and arm span; functional movement screen, single leg hop test and performance test.

Amer helped win a gold medal for Team Philippines in Southeast Asian (SEA) Games men's basketball in Singapore last June.

While in Davao, he played for Davao City to city and regional basketball competitions including the Palarong Pambansa as a student-athlete of Holy Child.

He was finals MVP of NCAA's Season 88 and helped the Red Lions’ five-peat string of championships for the past four years.
