AN AMERICAN national was found dead inside his rented room at Calong- Calong, Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod City Tuesday, July 11.
Police identified the fatality as Ronald Robert Gaines, 48.
Investigation showed that Gaines was seen by his girlfriend sprawled on the comfort room floor around 2:30 p.m.
Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman Jr., head of Police Station 8, said Gaines sustained injuries when he probably fell.
His girlfriend said the victim was suffering from rib injury and gout.
She added that Gaines told her through a text message that he was having difficulty with his business in the United States.
Benoman said there was no struggle on the part of the victim and his personal belongings were intact.
However, they are still investigating to determine if there was foul play, he added.
