American feast kicks off ‘Plate to Palate’

AS July opens the third quarter of the year, the weekend buffets at Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino in Mactan, Cebu turn to international cuisine for inspiration. The hotel recently launched its third quarter promotions themed “Plate to Palate,” together with the introduction of its new food and beverage manager Anna Corpuz and executive chef Danny Gonzales.

“Plate to Palate” is a theme that revolves around the idea of presenting food that not only looks good but tastes great as well.

“We wanted our guests to, instead of just taking photos of the food or just posting in social media, realize the taste and feeling of what they are eating, which is the most important. That’s what we wanted for this quarter and even for the rest of the dining experience,” said Hanski Garcia, the hotel’s marketing communications officer.

This month’s “American Dream” presents hamburgers, sausages, rib eye, fresh salads and desserts, among many other choices.

“We use American ingredients balanced with some of our own that are Filipino. We also introduced healthy options through the use of organic ingredients, thus, presenting a balance with our menu’s variety,” Gonzales said.

For August, the hotel goes Italian with “La Dolce Vita,” which is a mix of evocative and delightful Italian cuisine. September sees “Haute Crepe,” inspired by the finesse and elegance of French cuisine. (Verona Ann Entoma, UP Cebu Mass Comm Intern)
