Apo ni Lola to launch durian otap

APO ni Lola Durian Delicacies targets to release their new product – durian-flavored Otap, the first of its kind, on August in time for the Kadayawan Festival.

“When tourists visit pasalubong shops, they would usually want to try what’s new. There’s no local durian manufacturers that sell durian otap products. So, I think we’ll be the first on that as a home-grown brand. In Cebu, they have the plain otap. Here in Davao, we’ll incorporate the durian and the otap,” said Apo ni Lola Durian Delicacies Operations Manager Imee Marie Añabesa-Acopiado.

The new product will be available in their main store at San Miguel Village, Matina, Davao City, and will be available in 10-piece packs.

“Within the year, we are looking forward to releasing more new products but we are gradually doing the innovations. We will still give proper time for our durian otap to be more known by the customers,” said Acopiado.

Apo ni Lola Durian Delicacies started out in 2000 but started to get more attention on 2009.

The shop partnered with different government agencies including Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Science and Technology.

Currently, Acopiado said their best-selling product is their creamy durian bar for which they improved the packaging from the regular packaging materials to foil and box-type packaging.
