Araneta-Magsaysay flyover completed by November 30

BACOLOD City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya said Thursday the Araneta-Magsaysay flyover will be completed by November 30.

Gasataya said the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central office committed to the date, and by that time, the structure could be passable.

The Araneta-Magsaysay flyover has a total project cost of P365 million which was converted into an economic construction cost of P321.2 million using the standard economic conversion factors.

The DPWH allotted P32.008 million for civil works only.

Gasataya said he is also working for an additional of two more flyovers in Bacolod that will be constructed along Lopue’s East, Bangga Cory, or C.L Montelibano Drive.

He said the flyover is a necessary infrastructure that presents a structural solution to traffic congestion, and will lower road capacities brought about by an urbanizing metropolis.

Gasataya said he is also facilitating to fasttrack the drainage master plan of Bacolod.

The DPWH had earlier allotted P16 million for the comprehensive drainage master plan.
