Arayat’s PCF to rehabilitate road networks

ARAYAT -- True to its purpose of spurring development through infrastructure projects, the local government here is allocating its second Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) to rehabilitate its old road networks.

This was disclosed by Mayor Emmanuel “Bon” Alejandrino during the turnover of the P2-million check from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Pampanga on Tuesday, January 23, at the municipal hall.

The PCF is the cash incentive that comes along the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance award granted to local government units which delivered excellent public service in various aspects.

Alejandrino said that he is allocating this year’s cash grant for the rehabilitation of a major road network in Barangay Sto. Niño Tabuan in this town.

The thoroughfare, which is being traversed by hundreds of public and private vehicles daily, is slowly deteriorating and immediate reconstruction is deemed necessary, Alejandrino said.

“Ang PCF ay regalo ng DILG sa Arayat matapos nitong nakita ang aming pagkakaisa para sa ikauunlad ng aming bayan. At nararapat lamang na ilagay namin ito sa isang proyekto na maaaring makita at magamit ng bawat isa araw-araw,” he said.

(The PCF is a gift of the DILG to Arayat after it recognized our unity for the development of our community. It is only right that we use this for a project which will be used and seen by everyone of us daily)

DILG Pampanga Director Myrvi Fabia, for her part, expressed optimism on the success and immediate utilization of the development project which, she hopes, will be beneficial to Arayateños.

She stressed that the agency will also overlook the construction and utilization of the project as part of its monitoring activities.
